BSA Releases 3 Decisions
The Authority has not upheld a complaint alleging a news item on RNZ about airstrikes in Lebanon breached the balance, accuracy and fairness standards, including by failing to give context for the strikes. The BSA found the broadcast was a simple report on events, not a ‘discussion’ of issues to which the balance standard might apply. Listeners were unlikely to get a misleading impression, and the fairness standard did not apply. This and other recent decisions can be seen here.
