Three election programme decisions released
The BSA today released decisions on three election programme complaints, none of which were upheld.
All three complaints were made under the Election Programmes Code and two of these complaints were also made under the Free-to-Air Television Code. The complaints related to election campaign advertisements for the National Party and the Ban 1080 Party. The decisions dealt with whether statements made during the advertisements were analysis, comment or opinion made for the purposes of political advocacy, or assertions of fact.
