Release of Public Awareness Survey Report
We have published the results of this year’s Public Awareness Survey. The survey revealed high overall levels of awareness of both the BSA and of audience ability to complain about breaches of broadcasting standards. Awareness levels amongst Māori, Asian and Pasifika communities were also found to be good (although slightly lower than non-Māori/Asian/Pasifika respondents). The survey also tested awareness and use of filtering technologies/parental locks, finding 46% are aware of such technologies but only 4-15% of New Zealanders use them. This research will inform the BSA’s future work programme.
