BSA releases eight new decisions
The BSA has released decisions on eight complaints today, with two complaints upheld. One of the upheld decisions concerned news items broadcast on RNZ National about issues impacting on the education sector, with the Ministry of Education complaining that these items were unbalanced and unfair, and it should have been given an opportunity to provide comments in response. The BSA found that the broadcaster fell short of its obligation to present significant points of view in the news items and to provide the Ministry with a fair and reasonable opportunity to comment. No order was made.
