Complaint that the coverage was biased and unbalanced in that it suggested that the death and destruction in Ulster over the past 25 years was solely the work of Catholic republican terrorists. Morning Report. Interview with the Acting Director of the Maori Health Research Centre in Wellington.dealt with report on the progress in dealing with social problems facing Maori. Exchanges with the presenter of the Maori bulletin. Interview by the same presenter with the Prime Minister in which the presenter had been accused by the Prime Minister of a lack of integrity. H and Radio Liberty Network - 1996-040

Radio Liberty midnight to 6.00am talkback show. Complainant telephoned the station and expressed his agreement with a sponsor's action in withdrawing its sponsorship following complaints they'd received about the show. The host said on air that the station had the technology to trace the complainant's call and made abusive and menacing comments towards the complainant. Upheld (fairness, responsible programming): action taken insufficient. No order.

Christian Heritage Party and Television New Zealand Ltd - 1996-041

The Last Temptation of Christ. Film speculates about the self-doubt Jesus Christ might have felt as he became aware that he was chosen by God to carry His message. Not upheld (good taste and decency, balance, accuracy, discrimination and denigration).

Rape Prevention Group and Television New Zealand Ltd - 1996-042

Gone with the Wind. Complaint about the apparent rape scene and that the film encouraged sexually violent attitudes. Declined to determine (good taste and decency, discrimination and denigration, violence).

One Network News. Report showed scenes from the carnival parade in Rio de Janeiro and the accompanying commentary reported on efforts of health officials in Brazil to educate its people about the dangers of AIDS. Not upheld (good taste and decency).

Station identification promo for TV2 was broadcast after 8.30pm and one scene in the montage showed a naked mandescending a fire pole. Not upheld (law and order, good taste and decency, children's interests, violence).
